It’s finally arrived: your wedding album and prints documenting everything from pre-ceremony preps to the after party. With hundreds of photos at your disposal, it’s easy to get overwhelmed about how to display these in your home. After all, wedding pictures are imbued with such beauty—captured moments of love and happiness to remind you of one of the most important days in your married life. Having these around the home are sure to lend that joyful, peaceful vibe.
Our initial instinct is to place our wedding album on the coffee table and to buy pictures frames to house a few photos and place them on one table. This almost always leads to an “altar” effect. However, there are many ways to creatively display your treasured pics. Check out some of these ideas:
Black and White Wall Montage
Your photographer also supplies you with hi-resolution digital files so you can print other images apart from the existing short-listed photos. Curate your favorites and render them in black and white using photo-editing software. Next, have them printed in a larger size such as 8 x 10. Pick out simple, modern frames in black, white or a wood finish to house the images and place them in a clean, linear orientation on your wall.
Here’s a fun way to create an ever-changing photo vignette that allows you to revolve different images as you see fit. Purchase a store-ready chalkboard that comes with clips. Hang photos along a string of twine. Complement those images with an inspirational quote or catchy phrase describing them. Feel free to update as often as you want!
Photo in a Plant pot
Here’s another crafty idea. Begin by printing photos and having them laminated. Mount the photo onto a metal table number holder or, for a more rustic look, a wooden twig. Stick the photo into a plant or flower pot for a garden-inspired look.
Group different photos into themes (ceremony, bridal party, dancing guests, even food!) and place in various parts of the home: on a work desk, vanity table, a bookshelf, or the buffet table next to the dining area. Adorn each vignette with potted plants, scented candles, mirrors, vases, or books. Adapt each vignette to each room, so feel free to pick out photo frames and décor that complement each other or are tied together by a color palette.
With these crafty and creative ideas, you can beautifully integrate your wedding memories into your abode!
